Link your bank cards as Spending Account for Round-ups
Raiz monitors your bank card activity for round-up opportunities. Round-ups are like a digital version of spare change. Raiz will invest this spare change automatically every time you spend.
Our current app allows only Maybank cards to be linked as Spending Accounts for Round-ups for now. Simply enter your bank card details to link your bank card as your Spending Account.
Please note that you would be required to confirm a security code in order to link your Spending Account. The security code would be texted by your bank to your handphone number associated with your bank card.
If you are not interested in Round-ups, you can skip this step and we will not be able to collect this spare change for you.
However, you can still invest any amount at any time using other features that allow you to make a lump-sum investment or set up recurring investment.
To make a lump-sum investment, go to “Invest” from the Home screen, select “Deposit”, and enter the amount you’d like to be transferred from your Funding Account to your Raiz account. To set recurring investments, go to “Invest” from the Home screen, select “Recurring”, and enter the amount and frequency (daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly) for your recurring investments.** We use bank-level security to keep your information safe.
Connect a funding account
A Funding Account is a bank card which funds your Raiz investments directly. Whenever;
- the round-ups threshold (minimum RM5) is met or exceeded; or
- lump sums are invested; or
- recurring investments are set,
this Funding Account is debited a corresponding amount.
Simply select your bank from the list and enter your bank card details to link your bank card as your Funding Account.
Please note that you would be required to confirm a security code in order to link your Funding Account. The security code would be texted by your bank to your handphone number associated with your bank card.
Connect a Withdrawal Account
A Withdrawal Account is a bank account which all your requested withdrawals will be sent to directly. You can withdraw money from your Raiz account at any time. All withdrawals will be sent to your nominated Withdrawal Account within the next 4 business days.
Simply select your bank from the list and enter your bank account details to link your bank account as your Withdrawal Account.
If you wish to change your Withdrawal Account, please contact Support. Please note changing the Withdrawal Account may delay a withdrawal as the new Withdrawal Account must be verified.
Tell us about yourself
The first set of fields asks for your full name (as per your MyKad), MyKad number, date of birth, phone number, and a security question. The following page will ask you to enter your home address and a confirmation that you are not a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or hold a U.S taxpayer identification number. Raiz does not accept applications from such applicants. The following screen will ask you if you are a tax resident in any jurisdictions outside Malaysia.
The next set of fields covers your financial standing, including your employment status, net worth, income, investment goals, and time horizon.
Employment: Your current employment status.
Approximate Net Worth: The value of everything you own (e.g. bank account, house, unit trusts), minus off everything you owe (e.g. home loan, car loan, credit cards).
Investment Time Horizon: The earliest time you may need to access a significant portion of your investment funds.
Reason to Invest: The item or lifestyle choice on which you plan to spend money accumulated from your investments.
Monthly Income: How much you are earning each month
This information is part of the Raiz calculator which feeds into the next page.
Raiz encrypts and protects all customer data with bank-level security.
After you submit this information, Raiz will recommend you a portfolio. Select “Confirm Portfolio” at the bottom of the screen.
You may also select other portfolios. However, as each portfolio carries different levels of risk, please note that you may be exposed to risks that are below or above your risk tolerance if you decide to select another portfolio.
You can start investing with Raiz by choosing your initial investment.
Troubleshooting your account
Sometimes issues arise when signing up for your Raiz account – perhaps information was not entered correctly. If this occurs, a red triangle with an error message will appear on the home screen. Please tap this notification to address the problem. You can also visit the Settings > Accounts screen to manually link or unlink your bank card.
